WR42/WR34 Ka-Band 4-Port Circularly Polarized Feed Assembly

The integration of a circularly polarized feed assembly is crucial for advanced communication systems. This feed assembly enables circular polarization—a key feature ensuring dependable data transmission. It is composed of three core components, the Orthomode Transducer (OMT), two identical diplexers, and the circular polarization unit represented in two hybrid couplers.

This 4-port system facilitates the transmission and reception of radio frequency signals in a double-track configuration, where transmission (Tx) occurs through two ports with access to the standard rectangular waveguide WR34, and reception (Rx) takes place through two ports with access to the standard rectangular waveguide WR42.
The overall system achieves a good matching level with an acceptable axial ratio to ensure the excitation and receiving of a circular polarized wave. This results in a high RH/LH isolation between the ports as well.
